Celebrating the 2020 Minnesota Youths of the Year
Featuring Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison
For the first time, the Minnesota Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs is hosting a dinner celebration to honor the YOY finalists, as well as Minnesota Boys & Girls Clubs supporters from the statewide community. The event program will include select YOY finalists sharing their “Club stories”, and the 2020 winner will be announced. There will be additional awards and speakers, including Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison. Boys & Girls Clubs supporters from the Minnesota legislature and Governor’s Office will be invited to attend.
The Minnesota Youth of the Year (YOY) is designed to promote and recognize service to Club and community, academic performance, and contributions to family. Youth from across Minnesota are selected to represent their local organization and join their counterparts from across the state in sharing their life changing stories.
Once selected as Youth of the Year, the winner begins a one-year term as the teen spokesperson for all Boys & Girls Club members by taking part in community events and activities. They also go on to compete at the regional level.All state youth of the year participants receive college scholarships from the Home Team Scholarship, which is funded by Fox Sports North and Minnesota's six major professional teams
